Marina Bentata Skornicki founded her law firm in Miami in 2009, after more than 20 years of experience in transactional, corporate and intellectual property law in Venezuela. Marina helps individuals and businesses of all sizes resolve their legal issues, pragmatically and creatively. She advises on business and corporate law, intellectual property and immigration.

She handles corporate formation, contracts and transactions for business, including early stage, growth and mature companies.  She registers and manages trademarks and copyrights worldwide, through an extensive network of affiliates around the world, with whom she has worked for over 20 years.  Marina also assists and provides genuine support to individuals, families and employers with immigration needs in the United States. She has significant experience in investment and employment-based visas, as well as family based visas, permanent residency applications and naturalization.

Between 2010 and 2012, Marina served as the only in-house lawyer for the Latin American and Caribbean division of a Fortune 250 company, managing the legal aspects of relationships with 70 franchisees: day-to-day operations, contracts, franchising, licensing and disputes. Between 2006-2010, Marina worked in law firms in South Florida.

Marina was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 2006, after completing a J.D. and passing the bar exam. She was admitted to practice law in Venezuela in 1987.

Currently, Marina resides in Aventura, FL, with her husband. She is the proud mother of two, and a grandmother of three. She completed three years of Physics at Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela, before studying law.

Counseling individuals and corporations with a comprehensive understanding of the issues and opportunities associated with doing business in Latin America. Marina has a network of correspondents in 20+ countries in Latin America.

Business and Corporate law and STRATEGY

Provide advice on strategy, investments in and operations of businesses within the United States. We assist from the creation, purchase of the business or purchase of the business assets until the end of the investment process, and while you build your business. We draft and negotiate all contracts for the purchase of the business and conduct the legal due diligence required ensuring that your day-to- day business decisions are informed by cutting edge and pragmatic legal analysis. We create corporate entities that best suits the client needs and draft shareholders/members agreements to regulate the shareholders/members dealings.

IMMIGRATION

Legal assistance and genuine support to individuals, families and employers with immigration needs in the United States. She has a track record of assisting individuals and businesses with employment and investment-related visas and family based visas, including TN, H1-B, L-1, E-2 and EB-5.
